Great Shopping Adventure
For those who enjoy a great day’s shopping adventure, Houston County has everything it takes to satisfy the most die-hard shopaholics. Finding what one needs is fun and exciting due to the wide variety of easily accessible shopping venues and retail stores located within the community and throughout the surrounding area. There are numerous shopping centers, retail centers, malls and entertainment complexes that draw shoppers and visitors from around the state.
Houston County’s business and retail district compliments the shopping centers with stores and boutiques that offer a wide variety of products and services. Merchants in the district sell items for the entire family – many that can’t be found anywhere else.

Houston County is conveniently located in the center of the largest population centers of the state. It is almost equidistant between Dallas and Houston. All roads literally lead to the County Seat in Crockett. Seven other major population centers are to be found within an hour's drive of Houston County.
Area attractions include the Houston County Fair, rodeos, circuses and more. 
Local festivals include the World Championship Fiddler's Festival, a Gospel Festival, Bluegrass Festival, Heritage Days Festival, Peanut Festival, etc. Also of interest are the 1909 Crockett Railroad Depot and Visitor Center Museum, the Rice Log Cabin, the Monroe-Crook House, the Crockett Civic Center, the 
Ritz Theater and more.
